WHAT WE'RE OFFERING
We're offering Artists/Groups the opportunity to apply for a short residency at The Riverfront. These residencies will be supported by the in-house team.
The agreement is based on the idea that each residency will culminate in a short performance-sharing of new work as part of the CULTIVATE Scratch Night in the Studio Theatre on June 6th 2024.
Technical support will be agreed in advance within an agreed set of parameters available to you as an artist at a scratch level.
WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE
- 5 x days of space at The Riverfront Theatre & Arts Centre to be agreed with the Programming Executive and Creative Development Manager.
- Support from the in-house team.
- Technical support for performance as part of the Cultivate Scratch night.
- £200 (per Artist/Group) for expenses.
- A filmed version of the work for future development.
- Creative Producer support & feedback
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Expressions of interest from Artists and Groups (collectives, companies, pairs etc) who have an idea they think would benefit from further development and audience feedback as part of CULTIVATE.
We're interested in works of any form and genre; however, it should be able to be shared in a traditional-studio-theatre setting at a duration between 10min - 25min. At this time, we are unable to support applications from Artist’s who might like to share work in other spaces in the building.
We want to support people to explore specific ideas and narratives informed by their experiences whose work can influence a wider conversation with audiences and communities. Because of this we're particularly interested in work that addresses urgent themes and/or is led by Artists from typically marginalized groups. Mentioning specific community groups your work might benefit/be for, in your application will be helpful and give further insight to the project as a whole.
Within the linked form there is a section that asks you to specify any needs you might have.
In the case of Disability lead work, we are keen to co-develop an access rider tailored to your specific needs, upon successful application.
In total we're looking for x3 Artist/Groups who will form an exciting showcase of work in progress performances as part of the CULTIVATE Scratch Night.
Each sharing should last between 10min - 25mins.
All work should be suitable for audiences 14+.
