The Riverfront Theatre & Arts Centre is thrilled to unveil the official poster and trailer for this year’s highly anticipated pantomime, Dick Whittington, setting the stage for a magical and hilarious adventure for the whole family. Following last year’s record-breaking production of Beauty and the Beast, which attracted over 27,000 attendees, this year promises to be even more spectacular!

This year’s pantomime invites you to follow hero, Dick Whittington, and his loyal companion The Cat, as they embark on an exciting quest from Newport in search of fortune, friendship, and fun! But will the journey go to plan? Is the road truly paved with gold? In classic pantomime style, expect unexpected twists, laugh-out-loud moments, and plenty of audience participation!

With a captivating storyline, breathtaking scenery, beautiful costumes, and a cast of unforgettable characters, Dick Whittington is set to be The Riverfront’s most enchanting production yet. Running from 27th November to 4th January, this timeless family pantomime will transport you to a world where anything is possible, and love triumphs over all!

Elian West returns to The Riverfront with a thrilling debut as the pantomime's villain, Queen Rat, ready to make mischief and mayhem!

Making his first appearance at The Riverfront, Jonathan Houlston takes on the role of Dick Whittington, sure to charm audiences with his captivating performance.

Mia Jae, with her powerful voice and stage presence, steps into the role of Alys Fitzmorgan, our story’s heroine.

The ever-popular Richard Elis, a Newport favourite, returns to play The Cat, Dick’s lovable and witty sidekick.

Local hero Gareth Tempest is back in the iconic role of Sarah the Cook, promising endless laughs as the pantomime Dame.

Aled Pugh is returning for his third year as the hilarious Idle Jack, following rave reviews for his past performances.

Alex Parry will grace the stage as Alderman Fitzmorgan, Alys’s father, bringing his wealth of experience from Welsh theatre and TV.

Chloe-Jo Byrnes will sprinkle some magic as Fairy Daffodil.

Alongside this incredible lead cast, a vibrant ensemble of dancers and performers includes Maisy Wignall, Harry Chaloner, Alexa Clark, Jordan Boota, and Jacob Bradford.
