Newport Live is proud to announce its ongoing collaboration with KidCare4U and the Young Muslim Community Organisation to promote participation in swimming, fitness, and employment opportunities.

Building on the success and legacy of last year's Iftar event, Newport Live has identified the need for more accessible prayer facilities in its venues. With the support of Umbrella Faith, Newport Live purchased prayer and wellbeing mats to accommodate all multi faiths at its venues, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for all community members.

Newport Live is committed to providing facilities that support our customers. We recognise that these provisions like dedicated multi-faith prayer spaces and prayer and wellbeing mats can make a significant difference in encouraging participation in our services, especially during a sacred period like Ramadan.

To foster further community engagement, Newport Live is hosting a Ramadan Iftar Celebration to bring people together to listen, learn, and break fast with members of the Muslim community. This special gathering will welcome invited attendees from diverse backgrounds, faiths, and beliefs.

Additionally, Newport Live is offering free sport and fitness sessions tailored around Ramadan at The Geraint Thomas Velodrome in Newport. These sessions provide a unique opportunity to feel lighter and energised after Iftar with activities such as football, basketball, and gym sessions, with separate sessions for male and females available. Inclusive and safe spaces will also be available including separate prayer rooms.

Andrea Ovey, Newport Live’s Director of Business Development, says, “At Newport Live, we are committed to creating inclusive and welcoming spaces for all members. By introducing dedicated prayer facilities and tailored fitness sessions during Ramadan, we aim to support our Muslim customers in maintaining their spiritual and physical wellbeing. These initiatives reflect our dedication to diversity, accessibility, and fostering a sense of belonging for everyone who visits our venues.”

Rusna Begum, CEO of Kidcare4U, says “I am delighted to be part of the prayer mat launch at Newport Live, promoting inclusivity by providing dedicated spaces for prayer, reflection and wellbeing for all staff and service users.”

"At Umbrella Faith, we are dedicated to providing customised prayer and well-being mats designed to enhance your moments of reflection, prayer, and mindfulness. Whether you're seeking a comfortable surface for daily prayer, meditation, or simply a quiet space to centre yourself” explains Sadique Maskeen, CEO and Founder of Umbrella Faith.

Newport Live remains dedicated to fostering inclusivity and promoting healthier and happier lifestyles for all. We look forward to welcoming the community to these special events and initiatives during Ramadan.
