Newport City Council has considered its budget and set out a number of proposals for delivering services in 2024 - 2025. Newport Live is a contracted partner of Newport City Council and received £1.9m during the year 2023 - 2024 towards our operating budget, which is in the region £10m, to manage its facilities, and sport, leisure, theatre, arts and cultural services including those delivering in community settings.
In 2023 - 2024 Newport Live received a budget reduction of £217k. Newport City Council in 2024 - 2025 is proposing a reduction in Newport Live’s management fee of £194k, which reflects a 10% reduction in funding from the Council.
The Council is now running a public consultation which ends on the 9 February 2024 on their budget proposals for 2024 - 2025.
There is an opportunity for you to respond to the budget consultation via the Council’s website, Have Your Say - Newport City Council and Newport Live would encourage you to complete the survey together with reviewing the other proposals that could affect you as residents and service users.
