We are looking for two independent Non-Executive Board Members and Trustees, with a passion for arts, culture, sport and physical activity, who can help to deliver our strategic objectives. We seek people with expertise, energy and ambition to assist with delivering our vision and mission. Amongst other skills we are proactively seeking new Board Members with experience and insight into sustainability, human resources, law, marketing and sales.
Newport Live is part of 100+ Charitable Trusts across England, Wales and Scotland that share a passion to improve social, mental and physical well-being achieved through an exciting combination of programmes, activities and events in the centres that it runs across the city, in local communities, parks and green spaces. As well as delivering coaching and participation opportunities in sport and culture from grassroots to performances and events at the highest standards regionally and nationally across Wales and in the UK.

Trustees are required to support the Chief Executive to lead the governance of the Trust in the provision of well-being, sport, leisure arts and cultural facilities and community intervention and engagement programmes in the interests of social welfare to the local communities. An important part of the role is to steer and lead the organisation to ensure it promotes community participation. Wherever possible positively influencing the behaviours of the public on the benefit of living and practicing an active lifestyle and the value of the arts and physical activity upon their physical and mental well-being and quality of life.

Newport Live was formed in 2014 and works closely with partners including Newport City Council, the partnership with Newport City Council is supported by a 25-year management agreement. Newport City Council continues to own the centres. Newport Live are the custodian of the impressive facilities and the hugely important inspiring programmes and activities that they offer. Newport Live also work with a wide range of local and national partners, national governing bodies and stakeholders including Sport Wales, Arts Council of Wales, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
