The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre will be hosting a full day of entertainment, workshops and discussions in celebration of International Women’s Day 2025 on Saturday 8 March. This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, highlights the importance of pushing for progress in gender equality and women’s empowerment.
From 10am to 4pm, you can enjoy an exciting line-up of performances, interactive workshops, and inspiring discussions - all centered around celebrating women’s achievements and fostering creativity, all free of charge. Attendees are welcome to stay for the full day or drop in at their leisure.
Panel discussions and interactive workshops will explore topics such as Anti-racism Hair and Beauty, Celebrate Your Wins, Disability, Literature and Activism, and Coping Strategies for Stress & Anxiety. Creative activities will include crafting with artists Lucilla Jones and Naz Creates, tote bag printing with Stephanie Roberts, sewing with Oh Susannah and feminist origami with Fun with Femigami.
Other activities include Salsa and Qi Gong sessions, Bollywood dancing, live music by Welsh bilingual soul-folk jazz musician Kizzy Crawford, performances by local artists in collaboration with Operasonic and Race Council Cymru, and skateboarding workshops at a pop-up skate park.
A variety of stalls will be available throughout the day, offering manifesting sessions, oracle card readings, books for sale, handmade earrings, Japanese-inspired art and notebooks, reflexology, holistic therapies for fertility and hypnotherapy, as well as cakes, greeting cards, costume jewellery, and more.
Food and refreshments will be available throughout the day, creating the perfect opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals in a welcoming and inspiring environment.
