The Riverfront Gallery hosts a broad spectrum of diverse and exciting arts exhibitions throughout the year. We are proud to host exhibitions by professional and emerging artists, sculptors, community groups, and schools. Justin Brown: Mud, Oil and Water
Main Art Gallery. On display from Wed 15 July - Sat 15 August
'Mud, Oil and Water' is a physical description of the river Usk in Newport, and also sums up this exhibition of watercolour and oil paintings. The watercolours are sketchbook pages painted from life, showing the Usk and its banks as it moves through the town to the docks. The oil paintings were inspired by the life sketches, but also incorporate a visual story of the last days of commercial shipping on the river.
