The course is 36+ hours duration and covers accident prevention, water rescue, first aid/resuscitation procedures and more! 

Candidates must be 16 years at the time of taking the NPLQ final assessment and be able to pass the following criteria as part of a prereq swim test before attending the course: 

• Jump/dive into deep water 

• Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds 

• Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water. 

• Tread water for 30 seconds 

• Surface dive to the floor of the pool 

• Climb out unaided without a ladder/steps and where the pool design permits

 

Prereq swim dates & time

Prereq swim course dates & times are TBC (to be confirmed). 

The prereq swim test should take no longer the 15-20 minutes.

Test candidates will need to bring ID (identification) confirming their D.O.B. (date of birth) and swimwear.

Candidates who successfully complete the test, payment will be taken and they will be enrolled on the course and issued with a course manual and paperwork to read/start working through before the course starts.

Course Cost: £270 per candidate.  

Candidates must complete all dates and times of the course to be able to be put forward for the exam.
