Whether you are an experienced cyclist or not, find out how to start your track cycling journey at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales.
Adult Track Intro Stage 1
A 1 hour on-track introduction to the exciting discipline of track cycling.
Led by a British Cycling qualified coach, riders will learn how to control a fixed-wheel bike without brakes before venturing onto the steeply banked wooden track in the footsteps of Olympic athletes!
Participants need to be able to ride a bike, but the coach will progress riders at their own pace. The group size is small to allow both adults and young people to take their first pedal strokes in an enjoyable way.
This is the first step of our track cycling accreditation pathway.
Suitable for ages 14+.
Friday: 5 - 6pm
Tuesday: 9 - 10pm
Sunday: 4 - 5pm
Cost: £20 includes bike and shoe hire.
Youth Intro Stage 1
The session focuses on getting riders used to a fixed-wheel bike and how to ride the track with the guidance of a British Cycling qualified coach.
An ideal way to try track cycling before transitioning to the youth programme.
Suitable for riders aged 9-15 years.
Monday: 5 - 6pm
Saturday: 9 - 10am
Cost: £10 includes bike and shoe hire.
