Newport LIVE is looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated individual to the position of Part Time Recreation Assistant for 18.5 hours per week.

The successful applicant will be based at The Newport Centre and will assist in ensuring all users and customers of the venues experience a welcoming and safe environment that is fit for purpose, resulting in maximum enjoyment and repeat usage of venues.

As a minimum requirement applicants will need to possess an STA NARS or RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Certificate.

The post will require the post holder to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rota basis and the post holder will be required to attend mandatory staff training sessions.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a successful Disclosing and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to the post of Part Time Receptionist for 20 hours per week.

The successful applicant will be based at the Newport International Sports Village and will assist in ensuring all customers of facilities experience a welcoming and safe environment that is fit for purpose, resulting in maximum enjoyment and repeat usage of facilities. Previous experience of working as a Receptionist or in a similar busy customer facing role is highly desirable.

The position will require the post holder to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to the post of full time Senior Recreation Assistant at The Newport International Sports Village. The post is fixed term until 31 December 2017.

Working as an integral part of the Facilities Operations Team, this role will lead and supervise a team of Recreation Assistants, ensuring that all required duties per operational shift are allocated fairly and that all work is performed and presented to a high standard.

As a minimum requirement applicants will need to possess an STA NARS or RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Certificate, possess the Pool Plant Operators Certificate, demonstrate experience of planning daily work routines and be able to demonstrate 2 years operational experience with at least 1 year at supervisory level within a leisure environment.

Duties will include cleaning tasks to ensure that the facility is maintained to a high level of hygiene and cleanliness.

The post holder will need to have:

  • an awareness of COSHH Regulations

  • experience of cleaning in public facilities

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit a party time enthusiastic, lively and self-motivated individual as a permanent, full time Food and Beverage Assistant for 25 hours per week. The successful applicant will be required to work across all Newport LIVE venues assisting in the provision of a positive customer experience within our Catering department. We also have flexible contracted hours available upon request.

This role will include working in the café and bars along with helping to organise and host children’s parties. This will entail the service and preparation of food, cash handling, cleaning catering areas and preparing areas for children’s parties.

The post holder will be required to work mornings, evenings and weekends as and when required.

We are now looking to recruit an ambitious, professional and suitably qualified Tennis Manager to lead the growth and development of our tennis programme based out of the Newport Tennis Centre. The Newport Tennis Centre has recently been awarded the Aegon British Tennis Awards – Community Venue of the Year. You will be tasked with providing leadership, management, delivery and direction of the Tennis programme to achieve commercial and participation targets - helping us to improve performance every day.

The Tennis Manager will have a fantastic opportunity to manage the tennis programme at the centre and take responsibility for developing and managing a community outreach tennis programme in conjunction with the LTA, Tennis Wales and Tennis Foundation.

You will be part of a team which is focused upon delivering a great customer experience day in and day out at Newport LIVE facilities, developing the best products and services to encourage more people to participate and benefit from our superb facilities programmes on offer. Newport LIVE is looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated individuals to the post of Casual Box Office Assistant. The successful candidate will have a highly personable manner, be customer focused, possess excellent interpersonal skills and have a sound IT knowledge.

Newport Live has become the first choice for sporting, leisure and cultural activities in Newport. There are six Active Newport Gyms, four Swimming Pools, a Tennis Centre and a regional Theatre and Arts Centre which offers a large variety of fitness classes, sports programmes along with live performances and cultural activities on offer.

The successful applicant will be expected to provide technical support for get-ins, fit-ups and get-outs, as required by the Technical Manager, the Chief Electrician and the Production Co-ordinator. The post will require the post holder to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a casual basis and the post holder will be required to attend mandatory staff training sessions.

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to the post of Receptionist (Call Centre). This exciting covers our busy call centre which handles incoming calls as well as making outbound calls to customers.

Our mission is to inspire the people living and working in Newport to be happier and healthier. In order to achieve this, we are looking for individuals with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service to assist our current and potential customers with their enquiries and bookings, including track sessions at Wales only indoor Velodrome. We have recently been awarded Community Tennis Centre of the year by Tennis Wales and Aegon National Community Tennis Centre 2016 by the Lawn Tennis Association.

The successful applicants will work across our Newport LIVE venues however will be predominantly based at the Newport International Sports Village. The position will require the post holder to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

Grade 5  SCP 21 

£10.44 per hour

The post holder will be responsible for delivering a local Exercise Referral Programme with an overall objective of contributing to the GP National Referral Scheme and improving the physical activity levels and health of the people in Wales.

Working closely with the Exercise Referral Co-ordinator you will be required to, in your role of Exercise Referral Facilitator, educate encourage, support and signpost service users to the most appropriate form of physical activity. 

You will review personal activity programmes, give initial consultations, fitness inductions, perform progress reviews and carry out pre/post assessments with customers who have been referred from their doctor or other health professional. The exercise referral scheme is about helping people who are most at risk to enjoy a more active lifestyle.
