Newport LIVE is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed individual to the post of Booking and Programming Assistant. This a dynamic and exciting full-time role, 37 hours per week to work within a busy Bookings team. The Bookings Team sits at the heart of Newport LIVEs Business Support Function working closely with the Sites Operations Teams, Finance Department and Customer Contact Centre. The Bookings Team primarily deals with the regular block booking customers, large conferences , events and Corporate Bookings.

Our mission is to inspire the people living and working in Newport to be happier and healthier. In order to achieve this, we are looking for individuals with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service to assist our current and potential customers with their bookings, including Corporate track sessions at Wales only indoor Velodrome. We have recently been awarded Community Tennis Centre of the year by Tennis Wales and Aegon National Community Tennis Centre 2016 by the Lawn Tennis Association.

The successful applicant will be primarily based at the Newport International Sports Village but there will be occasions where it may be necessary to visit or work from other sites. The Bookings team currently operates Mon- Fri 8am – 6pm and the team work a flexible rota system to deliver their service through those hours.

This is an exciting new role which demands a high level of creative thinking, excellent production and financial management skills and the ability to manage a varied work load in a fast-paced environment.

Since it opened in 2004, The Riverfront has played a vital role in developing a high quality and ambitious cultural offer in Newport and its surrounding areas. It presents a diverse cross art form programme over 12 months of the year ranging from more commercially focussed events to experimental and risk taking work that supports the professional development of artists living and working in Wales. In addition, The Riverfront presents an annual pantomime which in 2016 enjoyed record audiences. It is also responsible for curating and delivering the Big Splash Festival, a major outdoor arts festival, which takes place in July and usually attracts audiences in excess of 10,000.

As part of our ongoing strategic development Newport Live, wishes to appoint a Creative Producer to help realise its ambition to produce the annual pantomime in-house from 2017 onwards and to play a central role in the further development of the Big Splash festival as an annual flagship event.

Preparation for the 2017 pantomime, Aladdin, is well underway and is currently being supported by an external producing partner. This year’s Big Splash festival is currently under development with delivery being supported by a free-lance producer who will be in place until the end of July 2017.

Reporting directly to the Head of Theatre, Arts and Culture, the post-holder will also be tasked with supporting the diverse range of arts and cultural events offered across Newport Live on an annual basis. This is an exciting new role which demands a high level of creative thinking, excellent production and financial management skills and the ability to manage a varied work load in a fast-paced environment.

Newport Live is a not for profit trust established on 1 April 2015 and is responsible for delivering sport, leisure, theatre and culture within the City of Newport across 6 venues and the wider community. Newport Live operates one of the leading arts venues in South Wales, The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre.

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to the post of Receptionist (Call Centre). This exciting covers our busy call centre which handles incoming calls as well as making outbound calls to customers.

In order to achieve this, we are looking for individuals with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service to assist our current and potential customers with their enquiries and bookings, including track sessions at Wales only indoor Velodrome. The successful applicants will work across our Newport LIVE venues however will be predominantly based at the Newport International Sports Village. The position will require the post holder to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

Grade 5  SCP 21 

£10.44 per hour

The post holder will be responsible for delivering a local Exercise Referral Programme with an overall objective of contributing to the GP National Referral Scheme and improving the physical activity levels and health of the people in Wales.

Working closely with the Exercise Referral Co-ordinator you will be required to, in your role of Exercise Referral Facilitator, educate encourage, support and signpost service users to the most appropriate form of physical activity. 

You will review personal activity programmes, give initial consultations, fitness inductions, perform progress reviews and carry out pre/post assessments with customers who have been referred from their doctor or other health professional. The exercise referral scheme is about helping people who are most at risk to enjoy a more active lifestyle.

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and responsible Casual Learning Mentors to work as part of Newport LIVE’s award winning Sport and Physical Activity Development Team, working within the inspirational Alternative Education (Positive Futures) programme.

The Sport and Physical Activity Development Team provides sport and physical activity opportunities across the City of Newport in schools, communities, alternative education programmes and a variety of other environments. The team is held in high regard locally, regionally, and nationally due to their forward thinking, creativity, inclusive ways of delivering, and overall professionalism. In turn we would expect the same from candidates applying for this post.

The successful candidates would be required to work during day time but may also include working some evenings / weekend delivery when necessary.

Newport LIVE is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to the post of part time Senior Recreation Assistant at The Newport International Sports Village, Regional Pool & Tennis Centre 18.5 hrs on a Job share basis.

Working as an integral part of the Facilities Operations Team, this role will lead and supervise a team of Recreation Assistants, ensuring that all required duties per operational shift are allocated fairly and that all work is performed and presented to a high standard.

As a minimum requirement applicants will need to possess an STA NARS or RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Certificate, possess the Pool Plant Operators Certificate, demonstrate experience of planning daily work routines and be able to demonstrate 2 years operational experience with at least 1 year at supervisory level within a leisure environment.

The post will require the post holder to work early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rota basis and the post holder will be required to attend mandatory staff training sessions.

Newport LIVE are looking for suitable volunteers to join our dynamic team to help deliver our Integrated Swim Programme. The successful volunteer will be responsible for assisting in the sessions in a wide range of our programmes and events throughout the city.

The Integrated Swim Programme delivers a comprehensive aquatic programme including learn to swim, school swim programme, competitive swimming & water polo, lessons for children with specific needs, holiday activities, community clubs and other aquatic sports.

You will have the opportunity to attend the swim development coach education programme including stroke specific workshops, safeguarding and disability awareness. The aim of which is to develop teaching and engagement skills and ultimately improved sessions for our participants.

They will assist in ensuring all customers of facilities experience a welcoming and safe environment that is fit for purpose, resulting in maximum enjoyment and repeat usage of facilities. Previous experience of working as a Receptionist or in a similar busy customer facing role is highly desirable.
