As part of the ongoing Celebrating Chartism Legacy, we are proud to host the ChARTism on the Hill project. This project will see the installation of permanent art works created to highlight the route taken by the Chartists Uprising, from St Woolos Cathedral, down Stow Hill and ending up at The Westgate Hotel.

The ChARTism selection panel agreed unanimously that 'In Their Footsteps', a collaboration between Team DG, Parry & Glynn and Ned Heywood, should be the chosen project. Follow the link to read more about this truly fascinating project

The art works focus has been developed with workshops in John Frost High School, South East Wales Race Equality Council (SEWREC) and Tata Steel.

Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Newport City Council and The Chartists Commission and is delivered by Newport Live.

Join us for the launch of 'In Their Footsteps' on Friday 19 May.
